Un jour magnifique

Ok, I nearly missed my train, what a wonderful beginning of the day! hehe Had to run and stride but, luckily, was at the terminal just at the moment the train arrived. Tasukatta~
The weather, by the way, couldn't be any worse, it's pretty cold and drizzling and windy, and considering I'm still sick it played a really bad trick on me; after a speed-marathon in the rain I started to cough again ;(
Anyway, was in the City by midday, and after effortlessly coping in the subway (hey I didn't get lost there - that's a feather in my cap indeed!) emerged on the surface into the same nasty weather, hurrying to the job interview wanting to be done with it asap. Well, it did pass very quickly, and I was out in the street surrounded by the harsh elements again, only to learn that my train home was in 4 hours. How do you like it?
Almost freezing, shuddering, I decided to at least have a walk in the neighborhood: went round the pond with 3 lonely ducks (must be freezing too), saw workmen building tower-blocks, took a few pictures, followed down the street but found there nothing except low gray buildings, rows and rows of them, so I had to make it back and down into the subway, thankfully, relatively warm.
At the terminal, bought a ticket for an earlier train because waiting for another hour in the prickling cold was going to cost me my health. I'd have to make a switch, and then catch a bus, and my pockets were near empty, several random coins dangling inside. I shouldn't have been that spendthrift wrt hazelnut in chocolate ;(
So I got on a train, tired and weather-bitten, before getting onto a bus that carried me home at last. Phew. It was a long ride but at least I came back home safe and sound (almost so, except coughing occasionally), and hungry too. I made hot tea and cooked chicken soup. It's weird because I usually don't cook but this time it turned out real yummy, with dill and carrot and garlic, all in measure.
And then, while enjoying my meals, I got a call, a woman saying they read my CV I had sent them so the company wanted to interview me one of these days. Say what? The CV I had sent them? Um, I couldn't recall anything of that kind. But anyway I agreed to come to their office this week.
Job interviews are fine by me but for the time it takes to get there, 3-hour train+subway+bus ride vs 20-minute interview. And I can't imagine living like this every workday, this is crazy.

A collage of the pictures I'd taken. All the rest goes to my Tumblr.
