First, Sour cream soup with meatballs.
The recipe of my own invention, haha. *smiles, proud of herself* I do not cook as a rule, but cooking is one worthy pastime when you have much of it at your disposal. I've taken to it recently, even went as far as start a cookery notebook where I write down yummy recipes. Next shot is Lahanorizo, which doesn't seem hard to prepare. Or stewed cabbage, or oven-roasted cauliflower. Ah, overchoice! ;) What do you suggest? Fall is vegetables' season so I'm in the mood for cooking cabbage, kale, broccoli, Brussel sprouts etc.
Ingredients:
2.5 liters water
500 g minced beef
few slices of hard cheese
4 medium potatoes
1 medium carrot
1 large onion
greens (parsley, dill, leek)
2 cloves of garlic
1 egg
350 g sour cream
flour
vegetable oil
salt, pepper red/black
peppercorn
Directions:
Dice the potatoes, put them into water. Chop the onion into two, chip one half of it, together with cut a few slices of cheese into small pieces. Chip garlic, one third of the greens, grate half of the carrot, mix all with minced beef, add the egg, add salt/pepper, mix well. Form balls from this substance, roll in flour.
Remove scum from potatoes. Let the water boil for 10 minutes, drop the meatballs, continuing to remove the scum.
Dice the remaining half of onion and grate remaining carrot, fry all lightly in vegetable oil.
After 30 minutes, add fried vegetables into soup, then add sour cream and another third of the greens, add salt and peppercorn. Boil for 10 more minutes, after which add the remaining greens. Let the pan stay covered for 5 minutes.
Soup is ready.
As for Halloween, it passed so-so. Nothing special. No make-up/costume party, no fun at all except carving a small pumpkin. So yeah, pretty boring. Hope your October 31st turned out amazing. Share pictures?
